The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says an inmate has died.
They say 88-year old Floyd Martin died Sunday at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln, where he was incarcerated.
Martin’s sentence began in November of 2008.
He was serving a 35 to 40 year sentence for second degree sexual assault of a child out of Custer County.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Corrections says Martin was being treated for a medical condition.
As is the case whenever someone dies in custody or while being taken into custody in Nebraska, a grand jury will investigate.
