(Springfield, IL) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation is being given nearly $25 million in grant funding for paratransit vehicles.
Two grants from the Federal Transit Administration will fund new battery-electric paratransit vehicles and paratransit vehicle replacements.
Fifty vehicles will go to participating transit agencies throughout the state, including Rock Island County and Rock Island MetroLINK.
