USDA Issues Disaster Designations In Illinois

(Springfield, IL) -- The USDA Secretary, Tom Vilsack, has announced four disaster declarations for the state of Illinois in response to the tornadoes and drought that occurred during the 2023 growing season.

Several counties were granted USDA Disaster Designations due to tornadoes, including Henry, Rock Island, Whiteside, and Knox counties.

Due to drought, disaster designations were given to Randolph, Jackson, Monroe, Perry, St. Clair, and Washington counties.

A disaster designation enables the USDA Farm Service Agency to offer emergency loans to producers who are recovering from natural disasters.
