(Omaha, NE) -- The Douglas County Board approves the county's new budget and with it is the potential for people to pay higher property taxes. The board didn't raise the property tax rate Tuesday night, but the budget anticipates property values going up by 9%. The county hasn't raised property taxes since 2019. The total budget is $554.2-million, a 4.9% increase from last year. Also in the budget is $51.6-million in American Rescue Plan money, which brings the total budget increase up to 5.4%.
