One Injured After Car Crashes into Apartment Building in Cedar Rapids

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says one person is hurt after a car crashed into an apartment building Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say crews arrived around noon after reports of the crash in the 300 block of 29th Street Drive Southeast. First responders were able to treat the driver at the scene, and the residents of the apartment building were successfully evacuated. CRFD says the building was heavily damaged, and crews had to take measures to keep the building stable.

No residents were hurt during the crash, and the crash remains under investigation.
