(Union County, IA) -- One person is dead and a second hurt after a high speed crash in southern Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of a Ford Mustang was speeding on Sumner Avenue/Highway 25 before 10 p.m. Saturday night, lost control and hit a parked car. The car then vaulted into the air and hit two houses, and landed on its top. The I-S-P says the driver, from Creston, died at Union County hospital. A male passenger, from Ames, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Names of the driver and passenger have not been released as of Sunday at 12 p.m.
