The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says an inmate is missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha.
They say 36-year old Michael Detty left the facility and his electronic monitor was found across the street.
Detty started his sentence on June 16th, 2021: 4 years and 12 months to 5 years and 18 months for charges out of Clay County that include possession of a stolen firearm and theft by unlawful taking.
He has a parole hearing scheduled this October and a tentative release date of October, 2024.
Anyone with information is asked to contact local law enforcement or the Nebraska State Patrol.
Community Corrections Center-Omaha is one of two community custody facilities operated by the state.
Corrections says community custody is the lowest custody level and least restrictive facility.
Inmates are allowed to work, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
