(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster declaration for Des Moines County.
Reynolds' office says the disaster declaration was issued due to severe weather that happened on August 4th. The disaster declaration activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Gran Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for households earning up to 200% of the federal povery level. Grants can cover home or car repairs, clothing, food, or temporary housing.
