The Douglas County Health Department is asking people to please keep an eye on children and older residents during this week's heat wave.
The Salvation Army has cooling centers open:
The Army's North Corps at 2424 Pratt St. in Omaha is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The South Omaha Kroc Center is not available this week because of regularly scheduled maintenance.
Open Door Mission is open during the heat snap at the Timberlake Outreach Center in East Omaha.
