The State Labor Department says Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for this past August is 2.0 percent, seasonally adjusted.
Department researchers say the rate is unchanged from July and is down 0.6 percentage points from the August 2022 rate of 2.6 percent.
The August unemployment rate has Nebraska ranked sixth nationally.
The national seasonally adjusted August unemployment rate is 3.8 percent, up 0.3 percentage points from the July number.
