(East Moline, IL) -- John Deere Harvester Works is laying off employees next month. The company informed workers at its East Moline facility yesterday that around 225 production employees will be placed on indefinite layoff on October 16th. It's nearly 10% of the workforce of 2,300 at the East Moline factory. Deere says each factory balances the size of its production workforce with their individual needs.
