New Information In Southeast Nebraska Fatal

Investigators release the name of a person who was killed in a traffic crash involving three motorcycles and two other vehicles late Thursday night northeast of Lincoln.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says 55 -year old Bradley Krutz of Lincoln, was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene on U.S. Highway 6 near I-80.

Two others on motorcycles suffered non -life threatening injuries.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the State Patrol, Waverly Fire and Rescue, Southeast Fire and Rescue, and Lincoln Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene.

Investigators say two passenger vehicles were westbound on Highway 6, one in each lane of travel, and the three motorcycles were westbound on Highway 6 behind the passenger vehicles.

As the vehicles slowed down, one of the motorcycle riders had to abruptly brake causing a chain reaction crash with a second motorcycle rider hitting the first cycle from the rear, causing them to hit the passenger vehicles.

Investigators say all three motorcycle riders lost control and crashed.

Westbound Highway 6 was closed down for several hours during the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction team to determine whether speed, alcohol, and helmets were a contributing factor.
