(Rock Falls, IL) -- The Rock Falls Police department is investigating a shooting that left one teenager seriously injured.
According to a news release, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of East 10th Street at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night to find a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The teen was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries before being air lifted to another hospital.
His current condition is not yet known.
Rock Falls police say there is no threat to the public.
