(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- New programs in Cedar Rapids and Marion will help low-income families struggling to pay for 2020 derecho-related home repairs. The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program in Cedar Rapids will allow homeowners to access up to 25-thousand dollars, or 50-percent of assessed property value. Marion homeowners can get up to 20-thousand dollars for a number of repairs. The city will match dollar-for-dollar up to 5-thousand above that.
