(Davenport, IA) -- A partial eclipse of the sun will take place this Saturday. Several viewing parties are planned in the Quad Cities though forecast clouds will likely obscure the event.
Augustana College in Rock Island will host a viewing event at the John Deere Planetarium at 11:00 a.m. The QC Astronomical Society will host events at the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and at the BettPlex in Bettendorf, at 10:30am. The Rock Island Library on 30th Street has a viewing party scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
