(Rock Island, IL) -- The Coast Guard makes its way to Schwiebert Park in Rock Island.
They executed its "Mission Mighty Mississippi," Saturday, October 21st, which is a practice helicopter rescue mission in the Mississippi River.
The event also promoted the Coast Guard to the community by helping 130 Boy Scouts gain their search and rescue merit badge.
The Coast Guard monitors water levels and is in charge of environmental problems along the river, such as oil spills.
