Nebraska Corrections says an inmate has died as the investigation begins.
Corrections says 51-year old Carl Christian died Monday night at a Lincoln hospital.
They say he was serving a ten to fifteen year sentence at the Nebraska State Penitentiary for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person in a case out of Douglas County.
Christian’s sentence began in May of this year.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in custody, Nebraska law calls for a grand jury to investigate.
