WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- One of the Midwest's largest grocery and convenience store chains is closing on Thanksgiving Day.
West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee says on November 23rd, all 550 grocery stores, Dollar Fresh Markets, Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations, Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits stores, and Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits locations will be closed across it's eight-state region.
The company says customers will still be able to pay at the pump for fuel at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations on Thanksgiving Day.
Hy-Vee says it's closing on Thanksgiving to give the company's more than 75,000 employees the chance to spend the day with their families.
The company says all it's offices and store locations will also be closed on Christmas Day.
