Research from selfstorage.com compared the average mortgage payments nationwide and found that Iowans are using 21.84%of their income on their mortgage payment. According to the study, the average monthly income in Iowa is $5,466, with an average monthly mortgage payment of $1,194. The average home value in Iowa is $216,000.
