(Iowa City, IA) -- Shelter House in Iowa City is preparing to open its Winter Emergency Shelter for anyone needing to avoid the cold temperatures.
According to Shelter House, they provided shelter to 700 adults, children, and families experiencing the crisis of homelessness.
Christine Hayes, Director Of Development for Shelter House, says the facility is a place where people can sleep beyond its regular emergency hours.
The Winter Emergency Shelter runs from December through March.
The shelter is located at 340 Southgate Avenue and will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Doors will open on Monday, December 4th.
