(Des Moines, IA) -- An investigation is underway after a body was found near the Des Moines Airport Thursday morning.
Initial reports say Des Moines city workers were in a wooded area on a bike path near SW 42nd Street and Willow Creek and found a body in a ditch. Police say the Great Western Trail is closed temporarily between SW 42nd Street and 63rd Street as police investigate. The body has yet to be identified.
Police say there's no active threat to the public.
