A vigil was held last night, and the Bishop of the Omaha Catholic Archdiocese asks for prayers for the Fort Calhoun St. John The Baptist Parish community after the death of it's Pastor, Father Stephen Gutgsell.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says 43-year old Kierre Williams of Sioux City is in custody in connection with the early Sunday morning stabbing death of the Catholic priest, which happened in the church rectory, the priest's residence.
Sheriff's Deputies were originally called to the church around 5 a.m. on a report of a break-in.
The suspect is being held on homicide and weapons charges.
