Red Cross In Need Of More Volunteers

(Moline, IL) -- The Red Cross of the Quad Cities and West Central Illinois is looking for more volunteers to combat local disaster relief.

Red Cross officials say over 4,000 people annually volunteer with the program, helping respond to over 1,800 incidents in the last year.

Mark Thomas, Interim CEO of the Illinois Red Cross said its organization is dealing with almost twice as many disasters in the last decade, meaning there's a need for more volunteers.

The most common disasters are fires.

There are many positions to be filled such, as the Disaster Action Team and Disaster Recovery Care.
