(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Nearly 100-thousand patients of Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids may have had their personal information stolen.

Mercy says the breach didn't involve their own computers. In a letter sent to patients, the hospital says a third-party vendor they used for transcription services between 2011 and 2014 was breached.

They say they're still trying to determine why their patient data was still on the vendor's computers.

Mercy Cedar Rapids is offering free credit monitoring to those affected.
