(Linn County, IA) -- Linn County is dealing with a 300% increase in homelessness compared to pre-pandemic.
Alicia Faust, Executive Director of Willis Dady Homelessness Services, says the expensive cost of housing with minimum wage not increasing is one reason why more people are becoming homeless in Linn County.
She adds the system needs to change to help people without a home.
The Linn County Board of Supervisors and the City of Cedar Rapids are teaming up to hire a Homeless Systems Manager.
