(Johnston, IA) -- Winter tree collection in the city of Johnston will begin next week.
Starting Monday, January 2nd, Johnston residents can set their old Christmas trees on the curb before 6am for collection. A Compost It! sticker must be attached for the tree to be collected. All ornaments and decorations must be removed prior to setting the tree out on the curb. The city says wreaths and garlands will not be accepted.
The winter tree collection will last for two weeks.
