(Dallas County, IA) -- One person is dead after a house fire in Dallas County on New Year's Day.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says it received a 9-1-1 call reporting the fire around 9:45 Monday evening. When emergency crews arrived, they found the rural home engulfed in flames and a woman outside the home who was not hurt. She told firefighters her husand was still inside. Firefighters found the body of 80 year-old Dennis Felt inside the home.
Investigators say they believe the fire was accidental.
