(Marion, IA) -- Marion officials are informing residents to follow garbage collection guidelines to aid crews in the cold temperatures.
Residents are asked to leave garbage bins on a flat surface at the curb before 7:00 a.m.
When there is extreme cold temperatures, the city adds a truck and operator to help lighten the load which means trucks may be at your house earlier than usual.
Garbage collection will be delayed for one day this week.
