(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Student Publications, Inc. now owns two new newspapers in eastern Iowa.
Last week, the nonprofit in charge of the Daily Iowan and the University of Iowa's student newspaper, attained the Solon Economist and the Mount Vernon-Libson Sun.
The goal is to have more nonprofits manage these types of publications to ensure good local journalism over business.
The first papers from the new change will be released next Thursday.
