(Iowa City, IA) -- A large Iowa City residence hall, which is up for sale, will be used for student housing this fall.
The University of Iowa says they need to use the Mayflower Residence Hall during the 2024-25 academic year, as more than 1,500 students have applied to live on campus.
The building remains for sale for $45-million, but any sale would be conditional on students living there for the upcoming academic year.
Mayflower opened in 1968 and can house up to 1,000 students.
