The Douglas County Election Commissioner reminds Bennington School DIstrict residents of deadlines for those who need to re-register or register for the first time for the 2024 Bennington Public Schools Bond Election:
Friday, February 23rd, 2024, prior to midnight - Deadline for online registrations.
Friday, February 23rd, 2024 - Deadline for mailed registrations to be postmarked.
Friday, February 23rd, 2024 - Deadline for voter registration at DMV offices, state agencies, Omaha Public Library locations, or by deputy registrars.
Friday, February 23rd, 2024 - Deadline for voter registration form to be delivered to the election office by someone other than the person registering.
The Douglas County Election Commissioner says voters who miss this deadline can still register in person at their respective election office until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 1st, 2024.
Bennington Public Schools holds the bond election on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
The election will be conducted by mail only.
No polling places will be open for voting;
Ballots will be mailed to all voters in Douglas and Washington Counties who reside in the Bennington School District and are registered at their current address.
The Election Commission says voter identification is not required for this vote because the state’s new voter ID law becomes effective April 1st of this year.
