(Buchanan County, IA) -- One person is dead after a house fire in Buchanan County on Sunday.
The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says the fire was reported in the 700 block of E Cedar Street in Quasqueton a little after 3am. The fire and smoke was so heavy that crews couldn't make an immediate entry. Once the fire was contained, crews found 69 year-old Kathryn Crawford inside the home in serious conditions.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, but Crawford later died at the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
