(Polk County, IA) -- A pedestrian remains in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle south of I-80 in Des Moines.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the accident was reported a little before 8pm Tuesday in the 4800 block of NE 14th Street. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found an adult male unconcious. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Investigators say the victim was wearing all black and crossing the roadway in an area that wasn't well lit. The driver of the vehicle has not been charged.
The victim's name has yet to be released.
