(Fort Dodge, IA) -- Police in Fort Dodge say one man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Saturday morning. A release says police responded to a home and were confronted by a man wielding two knives who was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. Police shot and killed the suspect. A dog was also injured, allegedly by the suspect, prior to the confrontation. The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is handling the case.
The name of the deceased suspect is currently being withheld.
