(Jasper County, IA) -- At least one person is dead after a house fire near Colfax in Jasper County. First responders learned of a possible occupant in the home shortly after arrival, but said the flames were so intense that it greatly slowed down the search process. After the fire was brought under control, heavy equipment was used to search through the structure. According to a press release, the deceased occupant was found late Sunday morning. The body will now go to the State Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.
