(Fort Dodge, IA) -- There's new information about a deadly shooting in Fort Dodge. Police say 24-year-old Tyler Stansberry of Fort Dodge was shot last weekend. Officers were called to a home at 1525 4th Avenue South early Saturday morning on a report of a violent individual who had harmed a dog. Police say Stansberry was armed with two knives and was shot when he started moving toward officers. The two officers involved are on leave, pending the outcome of an investigation.
Police say Stansberry was wanted on outstanding warrant for a probation violation, on a domestic abuse charge.
The Iowa DCI will lead the investigation into this case. The officers involved will be identified once the investigation is complete.
