The Iowa House has passed another version of the bill that reforms the state's Area Education Agencies.
The bill wouldn't make any changes to special education funding next year, but in 2025, districts would have to give 90% of that funding to the agencies. They keep the other 10%.
Also in 2025, districts would have full control on how to spend general education and media services funding.
The plan includes salary increases for teachers and paraeducators, and a 2.5% increase in school funding.
Nine House Republicans voted with Democrats against the bill, which now heads to the Senate.
