(Des Moines, IA) -- Drake Men's Basketball head coach Darian DeVries is leaving the program and heading to West Virginia.
West Virginia University made the announcement Sunday that DeVries will become its next head basketball coach. Drake University says it is conducting a search for a replacement. DeVries coached the Drake Bulldogs for six seasons, which included multiple Missouri Valley Conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances.
Multiple sources are reporting that multiple Drake University Men's Basketball players are entering the transfer portal after the announcement of DeVries' departure, including guards Atin Wright and Kevin Overton.
