(Pella, IA) -- A longtime national news correspondent will return to his alma mater in Iowa to teach a course this fall.
Harry Smith is a graduate of Central College in Pella and turned in his final story for NBC News this week. He'll teach a course on curiosity this fall at Central College and says he may write some books in the meantime. Central College posted on social media that Smith will be an executive in residence starting in the fall semester.
Smith is a native of Storm Lake, Iowa and spent 12 years at NBC News.
