(Dallas County, IA) -- A controlled burn will take place in Dallas County tomorrow as part of a joint training exercise with The Iowa National Guard.
The National Guard will work together with the Bouton Fire Department and Dallas County Emergency Management to evaluate their emergency responses.
The burn begins at noon near Highway 141 and Odessa Place and will last for about three hours.
WHO 13 reports the National Guard will use one of their military aircrafts to evaluate its capabilities to do water drops from helicopters.
One of the Guard's aircrafts will use a nearby farm pond as its "dip site" to collect and drop water on the fire.
Residents in the area may see an increase in emergency response activities, including the presence of emergency vehicles, personnel, and military aircraft.
Residents and motorists are being advised to avoid stopping or parking on Highway 141 during the training.
Odessa Place will also be closed except for local traffic.
There will be public viewing available at 25693 141st Street.
