(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids firefighters are reminding folks about the dangers of not managing firepits, and properly disposing of their ashes after a fire Sunday.
Two homes and a garage suffered heavy damage after a homeowner dumped firepit ashes in a yard cart beside his garage.
No one was injured.
Fire officials say ashes should be throroughly soaked before being discarded.
