(Davenport, IA) -- Iowans concerned about the misuse of prescription and over-the-counter medications can take part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.
Iowa's Office of Drug Control Policy at the Department of Public Safety recommends Iowans clean out their medicine cabinets and dispose of any medications they no longer need.
The collection in October netted 55-hundred pounds of old, unused and unneeded meds.
There are over 400 permanent pharmacy and law enforcement drop sites open year-round.
