(Davenport, IA) -- Davenport City Council is approving a new employment agreement for interim city administrator Mallory Merritt.
The deal would give her a pay bump, and 37-thousand 500-hundred dollars in back pay for filling the position temporarily--a number less than the original 50-thousand dollars proposed.
She would also be ineligible to apply for the city administrator position permanently.
The move comes after residents expressed concerns about a conflict of interest between Merritt and her husband, who is also a city employee.
