(Lincoln, NE) -- Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen is seeking a Presidential Disaster Declaration, because of severe weather April 26th.
The proclamation would pave the way for federal assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration.
Preliminary damage in Nebraska has toped $11 million, with over $8 million in Douglas and Washington counties.
Douglas County Emergency Management estimates 943 homes sustained damage, and 173 of those were destroyed.
