5 p.m. The multi-vehicle crash that led to the traffic jam on I-80/35 has been cleared. Traffic is flow has improved, but is still slow between the Des Moines River and the 86th Street exit.

(Polk County, IA) -- A multi-vehicle crash this (Thursday) afternoon has caused a very long traffic delay on I-80/35 north of Des Moines. Iowa DOT cameras show an extremely long line of eastbound traffic, between 86th Street in Urbandale/Johnston and the east mix master in Des Moines.
4:30 p.m.
Three of four eastbound lanes are reportedly closed, leading to a delay as long as one hour.
