What will the sky conditions be like in the Omaha/Council Bluffs region for a possible viewing of the "Northern Lights" tonight into Saturday morning?
"Well, good news here," Omaha National Weather Service Science and Operations Officer Brian Barjenbruch tells KFAB Radio News, "we've got some high pressure building in today, it'll be a little breezy, but pleasantly cool, Spring-like weather."
Barjenbruch says clouds around today clear out tonight, adding about the lights, "I'd say if they're up there, we should be able to see them."
A geomagnetic storm is possible this weekend due to explosions from a sunspot, and experts say the "Aurora Borealis" may be visible as far south as Alabama, meaning that Nebraska and Iowa residents may be able to see the lights on the northern horizon tonight into Saturday and, possibly, Sunday morning.
