(Vinton, IA) -- An eastern Iowa jury convicts Samantha Bevens of first-degree murder for her involvement in the death of of her stepmother, Jodie Bevans.
Closing arguments concluded Friday, and the jury reached its verdict Monday morning. Samantha Bevens' boyfriend, Tacoa Talley is already serving a life sentence for his involvement in Jodie Bevans' death in July of 2022. In Iowa, the mandatory sentence for first-degree murder is life in prison.
Samantha Bevens' sentencing is scheduled for June 14th.
