(Omaha, NE) -- The Douglas County Health Department partners with the University of Nebraska Medical Center for a Douglas County post-tornado needs assessment.
This survey goal is to learn more about how the Arbor Day Tornado affected residents, including how people were warned and what responders can do to help in the recovery effort.
Households in the areas most severely impacted by the tornado should receive a postcard in the coming days with a link to a survey or a QR code to take respondents to the survey.
A phone number will also be provided for those who prefer to contact survey staff directly,
The County says the assessment is similar to surveys used nationwide in similar disaster situations.
The health department says Douglas County government and UNMC hope to gather information to help public health and emergency management make informed decisions on how to allocate resources and learn where more emphasis is needed.
