Phone and internet outages reported across Central Iowa

(Des Moines, IA) -- Several Central Iowa police departments, including Des Moines Police, are experiencing phone outages after a significant malfunction at the service provider.

Lumen Technologies reported experiencing a water line break at its facility in Des Moines

There are reports that 9-1-1 calls made from landlines are not being received, but wireless calls are going through.

Polk County Emergency Management says the outage is impacting several statewide agencies.

MercyOne Medical Center says it's having phone problems in its hospitals and clinics across the state. The City of Johnston is also reporting phone problems.
