Omaha Officer-Involved Shooting Suspect Arrested

The Nebraska State Patrol says a suspect in an Omaha officer-involved shooting is taken into custody in Washington County.

The Patrol and other law enforcement agencies were on the scene early Friday morning and arrested 42-year - old Jason Davenport of Council Bluffs after a standoff near U.S. Highway 30 in Kennard.

The Patrol says a woman who was with Davenport is also in custody.

State Troopers say they tried to contact Davenport near 30th and Jefferson Streets in Omaha Thursday evening to serve a warrant when he came out of a residence firing a handgun.

Troopers and Omaha Police returned fire.

No law officers were hurt.

The N-S-P says Davenport and a woman originally fled the Omaha scene in a vehicle.
